Python Programming & Scripting (for Financial Sector)

While Python has gained tremendous traction within organisations, especially in the areas of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, IT and Cybersecurity professionals have yet to fully harness its capabilities in IT operations and risk management. Through this highly hands-on training, participants will first acquire a strong foundation in programming methodology, using Python as a medium. Building on this, they will be exposed to automating tasks - thereby eliminating human-induced errors and ensuring consistency - and writing their own programs - therefore giving them an appreciation of how applications work and a basic skillset which they can go on to develop further.

At the end of the training, the participants will be able to

• demonstrate a basic understanding of programming concepts including variables, data types, control flows, data structures, functions
• write their own functions which take in parameters and return a result
• interact with the host environment via Python
• write scripts to automate server-level tasks
• develop their own simple applications
