Cloud Migration and Deployment Implementation (for Financial Sector)

As more companies become more equipped on how to manage the security and data privacy concerns of cloud services, we are witnessing an uptake of cloud adoption in all industries including the financial service sector. There is thus a great demand for cloud migration and deployment.

Greater attention will be added to emphasize the importance of:
1. Determining the migration models from a set of application portfolios and infrastructure architecture.
2. Executing a migration task of moving technology components to the cloud.

At the end of the programme, participants will be able to:

• Understand the cloud journey and able to articulate the key challenges of moving IT workload to the cloud and ways to overcome them.
• Understand all the business values and outcomes companies can derive from adopting a cloud-first strategy.
• Understand all the components of cloud migration and implementation including cloud architecture, portfolio analysis, readiness, fit-gap analysis, serverless cloud, cloud operating model, and exit strategy.
• Understand the various regulatory requirements of cloud migration including personal data protection law in the APAC region.
• Understanding the cloud migration planning steps including strategic, tactical, and operational planning.
• Understand all the different migration models from rehosting to rebuilding, and the selection criteria of each model.
• Understand all the people change management aspects of a migration project including engaging business stakeholders, systems integrators, cloud service providers and brokers, the migration team, and the regulators.
• Understand the various project methodology that can be adopted to implement the migration.
• Understand the 4-phase migration process of determining business outcomes, the technology outcomes, and how to mobilize application life-cycling, test, deploy, and validate.
• Under the analysis phase, be able to prepare the cloud readiness report, the fit-gap report, the to-be technology architecture diagram, and the migration business case. This will include mapping the architecture to the various cloud services available in AWS.
• Under the activate phase, understand the various components including SDLC/ALM plan, cloud operating model, migration cut-over plan, and deployment roadmap.
• Prepare a migration checklist based on the use case study provided in the course.
